SEYMOUR ARM HYDRO
REFERENDUM
SEYMOUR ARM HYDRO Sometime this spring or summer
there will be a vote to approve the costs associated with bringing electricity to Seymour Arm. I have
owned property in Seymour since 1982 and this is the third time that there has been serious talk about
bringing hydro to the community.
There are just over 600 properties that will be affected but many of those owners will not
get to vote as they are not full time BC residents, even though they will have to pay if they want power or
not !
Approximately 75 people live full time in the area and hydro would be very convenient for
them as the many solar systems are not much good in the winter season.
Although having conventional power would be nice what's next ,the government has been pushing
us to have a water treatment system for years, and with power that might be forced on us at a great cost
then perhaps an expensive sewage treatment plant is next !
Hopefully the vote will be held with a long advance notice or even better a mail in ballot
would insure that all affected BC residents will be involved . Don Honeychurch Seymour Arm/Calgary
